Welcome to this free online learning course which is designed to raise your awareness of Community Benefits and how through the Specification Writing stage of the procurement process, you can engage prospective suppliers and encourage them to consider how they can deliver Community Benefits on your behalf.

The course itself has three component parts, each one working you towards the required goal of actually Achieving Community Benefits on behalf of your organisation.

Course 1 - Understanding Community Benefits - will take you approximately 45mins including the exercise

Course 2 – Procurement (overview of procurement for those not involved day to day in procurement) - will take you approximately 1 hour and the exercise can be part of an ongoing procurement process

Course 3 – Achieving Community Benefits- will take you approximately 1 hour and the exercise will take approximately 45mins

We suggest that you take each course separately and don’t try to tackle all three at one sitting!

By the end of the three courses we are confident that you will have a much better understanding of Community Benefits, where they fit within the procurement process and most importantly how you achieve them by including then within your future specifications and through contract management with existing suppliers.
